COLORADO SPRINGS – Anna Stancofski of the Swarthmore College field hockey team was chosen to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America Third Team on Tuesday afternoon. She is the Garnet's first All-American in field hockey in over two decades.
Stancofski became the first Swarthmore player to earn All-America honors since Garnet Athletics Hall of Famer Kristen English in 2000. She was one of six selections from the Centennial Conference.
Stancofski led a Swarthmore defense that ranked fourth in the Centennial and 39
th in Division III with a 1.40 goals against average. The senior also recorded three goals and two assists for eight points as well as a defensive save. Stancofski was a member of the NFHCA All-Region V and All-Centennial First Teams. Her efforts helped the Garnet post a 13-6 record and advance to the Centennial Championship Game while breaking into the national rankings for the first time in over 20 years.
