HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet went in front on the first shot of the game in the fifth minute. Hitchingham battled the Gettysburg goalkeeper for a loose ball in the scoring area. Hitchingham won the ball and smacked it past the goalie into the empty cage for a 1-0 lead. It was her team-leading seventh goal of the season and she has scored in seven of Swarthmore's 11 contests.
- Conklin turned away a pair of shots off two penalty corners late in the opening quarter to keep the Garnet ahead. However, the Bullets netted the equalizer just under three minutes into the second period, converting a shot in front of the cage. Swarthmore had two shots before halftime but both were saved by the goalkeeper.
- Kohn started the third quarter strong for the Garnet, getting an early opportunity but putting it wide. She hit paydirt just 24 seconds later, beating the keeper with a tough angle shot from the right side to put Swarthmore back in front, 2-1, in the 33
rd minute.
- Kohn recorded her second goal of the day in the 38
th minute. Crowley had the ball at the top of the scoring area and found Kohn down at the right post for the goal and a 3-1 advantage. The Garnet dominated the rest of the period, totaling three penalty corners and five shots, but the score remained 3-1.
- The Swarthmore defense allowed just two shots, one on goal, in the final stanza as the Garnet closed out the win.
