Melnikov, Koduri Fall in Championship Doubles Semifinals

Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Swarthmore College men's tennis team wrapped up play at the ITA Regionals on Sunday.

The duo of Michael Melnikov/ Utham Koduri had their tournament run come to an end with a loss to Carnegie Mellon University in the championship doubles semifinals. The top-seeded Swarthmore pairing won their previous three matchups to advance to today's action.

Melnikov had an excellent weekend as both a singles and doubles competitor. The sophomore had a combined 6-2 overall record as he advanced all the way to the quarterfinals in the championship singles bracket.

HOW IT HAPPENED
CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES
- Melnikov/ Koduri had their run come to an end versus the Carnegie Mellon pairing of Daniel Kong/ Raghav Jangbahadur. The Garnet dropped their semifinals matchup, 8-5, and were eliminated from the tournament. Kong also defeated Melnikov in the championship singles quarterfinals.

The Garnet wrapped up their fall slate as they prepare to play the bulk of their schedule this spring.
