Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

DeAngelo Leads No. 17 Men’s Basketball Over McDaniel

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 17 Swarthmore College men's basketball team tallied their seventh-straight victory with a dominant showing versus McDaniel College, 84-58, on Wednesday night. The Garnet have not lost a game since November 16, 2022.

Vinny DeAngelo led the charge with a season-high 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting. The junior guard was lights out from long range - knocking down a career-high five three-pointers on six attempts.

After recording a career-best 14 points versus Immaculata, TJ Chapman recorded his second-straight double-digit performance with 12 points in another efficient shooting night for the senior. Colin Shaw also scored in double figures with 11 points for the Garnet.

The Garnet had an exceptional night from beyond the arc as they shot 14-of-28 from long range. Seven different players connected on three-pointers for Swarthmore - including Quaye Agoyo, who recorded his first career three-pointer.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- DeAngelo set the tone early with a three-pointer on the team's first possession after Michael Caprise grabbed an offensive rebound. Cal Hanson then connected from long range, while DeAngelo drained another triple to take an early 9-2 advantage.

- The Garnet stayed hot from beyond the arc as they quickly built their lead versus the Green Terror. DeAngelo and Hanson connected once more on back-to-back threes to take a 20 point lead at the halfway point of the opening half, 26-6.

- DeAngelo knocked down his fourth three of the half as he remained perfect on his first four attempts from long range. The junior missed just one shot from beyond the arc as he ended the opening half with five three-pointers. The Garnet went into halftime with a commanding 44-28 lead.

- The Garnet carried their momentum into the second half as George Visconti opened the half with a three-pointer. Chapman later hit from long range as he expanded the team's lead to 25 points with 15:36 left. Swarthmore led by as many as 27 points as they cruised to victory over the Green Terror.
