Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women’s Soccer Falls to #4 Johns Hopkins

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer team fell to #4 Johns Hopkins University, 4-0, on Wednesday night.

The Blue Jays mark the second-straight, nationally-ranked program that the Garnet have faced after dropping a tight battle to #1 Christopher Newport University on Saturday.

Hope Neale and Emme Hansard each generated shots against a talented Johns Hopkins defense, while Nora Greer made eight saves for the Garnet in a full 90-minutes of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Greer made a leaping save in the sixth minute as she deflected an attempt off the crossbar, which was sent on goal from outside the box. However, the Blue Jays would eventually find the net with three goals near the midway point of the opening half.

- The Garnet had a run at the net in the 35th minute when Jacinta Fernandes-Brough played a beautiful ball from midfield to Kim Kockenmeister as she raced her defender towards the net. Kockenmeister got her foot on the ball, but the Hopkins keeper was able to defuse the scoring threat. The Blue Jays then added another goal in the 38th minute to take a 4-0 lead into halftime.

- Neale registered a shot in the 56th minute. Amelia Mounts played the ball to Kockenmeister at the top of the box, who then fed the ball to Neale. The sophomore had a look at the net, but played a shot high. Moments later, Kockenmeister had another run at the net, but had her attempt stopped by a sliding Hopkins keeper.

- Hansard generated a shot attempt off a free kick in the 66th minute. Hansard took the kick from 25-yards out and sent the shot just over the crossbar.
