Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Takes Down Juniata 4-2

HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Scoring four goals for the first time this season, the Swarthmore men's soccer team took down Juniata College 4-2 on Saturday, Sept. 10th.

Seeing offensive success across the board, four different members of the Garnet found the back of the net, with juniors Freddie Lin, Antonio Callegari, and Oliver Clackson, and sophomore Grant Nguyen all notching goals on the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-    Looking to go up early, Lin snuck the ball past the Juniata keeper in the 24th minute, capitalizing on an assist from first-year Toshiro Kenney.
-    Not satisfied with just a one goal advantage, the Garnet looked to make the most of a set of fresh legs. Subbing in Callegari after their first score, Swarthmore saw immediate returns, with the New Jersey native finding paydirt just three minutes later thanks to an assist from senior Sean Nolan. Callegari's goal would put the Garnet up 2-0, a scoreline that would hold through the half.
-    While Juniata scored two goals of their own to kick off the second half, the Garnet was undeterred. In the 59th minute, Nguyen knocked in an unassisted goal to give Swarthmore back the lead at 3-2, and in the 80th minute Clackson shot in an unassisted score of his own, pushing the Garnet's lead to 4-2. These successes were enough to secure Swarthmore the win.
