BALTIMORE, Md. - No. 28 Swarthmore College Men's Tennis fell to No. 12 Johns Hopkins University in the Centennial Conference Championship match on Sunday afternoon. The second-seeded Garnet fell to the top-seeded Blue Jays, 5-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles action, Grant Dill and Johns Nichols-Daly battled to an upset win over regionally ranked No. 2 Daniel Ardilla and Thomas Yu. The duo stole a point for the Garnet with an 8-6 win over the pair from Johns Hopkins. Rushil Patel and Charley Force fell at the number two doubles position, 8-7, with a 7-4 tiebreaker. Graham Hadesman and Max Pogorelov fell 8-6 at the number three doubles position.
- At the number one singles position, Noah Criss earned a crucial point with a 6-1, 6-0 decision to tie the match at two. Force was the next match to finish as he fell, 6-0, 6-3 to Yu, who is the second ranked singles player in the region.
- Nichols-Daly dropped a hard fought battle at the number five singles position to March Azar, 7-5, 6-1. Phil Rehwinkel kept Swarthmore in the match by winning a big match at the number four singles position, 6-1, 7-5. The Blue Jays clinched the title with a win at the second doubles as Patel fell to Vishnu Joshi, 6-1, 7-5.

The Garnet (15-7) will await their faith as the the NCAA makes its selection for NCAA Team Tournament on Monday, and the individuals will be announced on Wednesday.
