BALTIMORE, Md. - No. 32 Swarthmore College men's tennis team dropped its regular season finale at No. 20 Johns Hopkins, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon.
The Garnet suffered its only conference loss as they end the regular season with an 7-1 conference mark. Swarthmore clinched the second seed in the tournament, while Hopkins secured the top spot.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore tallied a pair of points in doubles action.
Graham Hadesman and
Max Pogorelov opened the afternoon with a convincing 8-2 victory in the third position. The Garnet then closed out doubles action with a victory from
Rushil Patel and
Charley Force, 8-6, in the second position.
- The Blue Jays made up ground with a sweep in singles action.
John Nichols-Daly fell just short of a comeback in the fourth position, 6-1, 7-6.
Rushil Patel also put up a fight in the third position, but fell 6-2, 7-5.
