BALTIMORE, Md. - No. 27 Swarthmore College women's tennis dropped a tightly-contested battle to No. 24 Johns Hopkins, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon.
The Garnet suffered its only conference loss as they end the regular season with an 8-1 conference mark. Swarthmore clinched the second seed in the tournament, while Hopkins secured the top spot.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet took a 2-1 lead after doubles competition.
Nathalie Williams and
Crystal Xu were victorious at the number one doubles position with an 8-5 victory.
Oviya Kumaran and
Spencer Watts also secured a win in the third doubles position with an 8-5 effort.
- Williams claimed her second victory of the afternoon with a win in the number two singles position, 6-2, 6-3.
Sonia Varma also battled to a winning effort in the third position, 6-4, 6-4.
