CHESTERTOWN, Md. - No. 32 Swarthmore College Men's Tennis remains unbeaten in Centennial Conference play as they defeated Washington College (Md.), 7-2 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Garnet improve to 14-5 on the season and 7-0 in Centennial Conference play, while the Shoremen drop to 10-7 and 4-3. Swarthmore is the lone program with an undefeated record in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore earned a hard fought two points in doubles action. At the number two doubles position,
Rushil Patel and
Charley Force battled to a 8-7 victory, while
Max Pogorelov and
Graham Hadesman earned an 8-3 win at the number three position.
John Nichols-Daly and
Grant Dill fell 8-5 at the number one position.

Kevin Jiang picked up a big win at the number one singles position. The freshman dropped the first set 4-6, and then won the next two sets 6-7 and 10-7. At the number two position, Patel picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory to clinch the match for Swarthmore. Nichols-Daly added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the number three position for the Garnet.
- At the number four singles positions,
Phil Rehwinkel tallied a 6-4, 5-7, 10-6 victory.
Noah Criss closed out the match with an 8-1 victory at the number six singles position, while
Josiah Myers-Lipton fell at the number four singles position, 8-4.
- In the last 12 seasons completed in the Centennial Conference, the Garnet have won at least seven matches or more in 11 of them.
