SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Softball earned the sweep over McDaniel College as they celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet took game one with a score of 3-2, and game two with a 3-0 decision.
Alex Simon had another multi hit game and a walk-off hit in game one, while
Gwen Glatz fanned six for the victory. In game two,
Olivia McClammy and
Grace Taylor led the way with a pair of hits.
Meg Ozawa earned the victory in the circle as she pitched seven shutout innings and struckout five.
Prior to the games, the softball program honored Glatz and Laura Hirari in the Senior Day ceremonies. With the sweep, the Garnet currently sit atop the Centennial Conference standings with an 11-1 record in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Swarthmore and McDaniel were held scoreless until the Green Terror plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by Paytyn Hazelton. The bottom of the fifth inning saw Swarthmore cut into the lead on an RBI ground out by
Maya Estrera, which allowed
Kate Hart to score.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, Glatz singled up the middle to score Simon from second base. The base knock by the senior was her 100th career hit in a Garnet uniform,

Cassidy Cheong started the bottom of the seventh inning off as she reached base safely on an error by the McDaniel shortstop. Estrera stepped to the plate, and hit into a fielder's choice, and would later be out at second on a Hirari fielder's choice. With two outs in the home half of the seventh, Simon singled to left field allowing Hirai to score the winning run from second base.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was all Swarthmore in game two as Simon tripled in the bottom of the first inning to knock home Estrera.
- In the bottom of the second inning, the Garnet had a double steal as Cheong's steal of second allowed
Grace Taylor to steal home.
Brooke Coneeny recorded an RBI ground out to shortstop, allowing
Flannery McFadden to score as Swarthmore extended its lead to 3-0.
