SWARTHMORE, PA - No. 27 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis earned a sweep over Gettysburg College on Senior Day at the Faulkner Tennis Courts on Saturday.
The Garnet improve to 12-1 on the season and 7-0 in Centennial Conference action. Swarthmore closes the spring with a perfect 9-0 record on campus.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the number one doubles position,
Crystal Xu and
Nathalie Williams battled to an 8-6 victory.
Sonia Varma and
Erica Stutz tallied an 8-1 victory at the number two doubles position, while
Ruthie Njagi and
Grace Dignazio earned an 8-2 decision.
- Varma returned in singles action with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at the number one position. Stutz earned a 6-1, 6-3 decision at the number two position, while
Sophie Brown won 6-3, 6-4 at the number three singles position.

Daniela Padron-Castillo rallied to a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the number four singles position, while Dignazio earned a 6-2, 6-0 win at the number five position. Njagi closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the number six singles position.
- Prior to the match, Brown, Dignazio and Varma were honored as part of the Senior Day celebrations.
