LANCASTER, PA. - No. 26 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis earned a sweep in their first Centennial Conference road contest of the season as they defeated Franklin & Marshall College.
The Garnet move to 3-0 in conference action as they recorded their second sweep of the 2022 campaign.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- At the number one doubles position,
Crystal Xu and
Nathalie Williams earned an 8-2 decision.
Sonia Varma and
Erica Stutz added an 8-4 decision at the number two doubles position, while
Spencer Watts and
Oviya Kumaran recorded an 8-4 victory at the number three position.
- In singles action,
Jenny Lewis earned a 6-0,6-3 victory at the number one position. Varma added a 6-1, 6-0 decision at the number two position, while Kumaran earned a hard fought 6-2, 6-7, 11-9 victory at the third position.
- Stutz added her second victory of the afternoon as she tallied a 6-1, 6-0 decision at the number four position. At the number five position, Xu earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Watts battled to a 6-1, 7-6 victory.
- Xu, Varma, Stutz, Kumaran and Watts were all double winners for the Garnet.
