LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team dropped a tightly-contested battle at #9 Franklin & Marshall, 8-7, on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet fell behind by five goals after three quarters, but rallied for four goals in the fourth as they fell just short of a remarkable comeback.

Quin Seivold and Ben Schaeffer led the Garnet offense with a pair of goals, while Liam Woerner tallied the other Swarthmore score.
Shane Nachshen also had an active day in goal as he made 11 saves on the afternoon, which marks his second most single-game saves of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Diplomats opened the scoring with the game's first goal at the 14:06 mark. Swarthmore then responded with three-unanswered goals to counter the home team's early attack. Von Mabbs netted the first score, while Quin Seivold and Ben Schaeffer connected on the next two scores. Franklin & Marshall then added one more goal before the buzzer to pull within one score, 3-2.
- Franklin & Marshall held the Garnet scoreless in the second stanza as the Diplomats added four more goals to take a three-score advantage into halftime, 6-3.
- The Diplomats held the Garnet scoreless for the second-straight quarter. Franklin & Marshall also added one more goal in the third stanza to expand its lead to four, 7-3.
- Franklin & Marshall kept adding pressure with its seventh-straight goal to open the fourth quarter. The Garnet then put a stop to its scoring drought with a goal from Woerner at the 10:30 mark. Swarthmore then built on its momentum as they ended the game with three-unanswered tallies from
Schaeffer, Seivold and Mabbs. However, the Garnet were held scoreless in the final three minutes of play as they fell just short of an incredible comeback.
