WESTMINISTER, MD - Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse picked up a Centennial Conference road victory on Saturday as they knocked off McDaniel College, 18-8.
Led by four goals from
Von Mabbs, ten different players scored in the victory for the Garnet.
Carter Strauch led the way with six points as he recorded three goals and three assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first quarter, the Garnet outscored the Green Terror, 8-1.
Ryan Chambliss opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 14:05 left in the opening frame.
PJ Cass, Mabbs, Strauch, and
Nico Campana would score four unanswered goals for the Garnet.
Michael Hardiman and Strauch would close out the quarter with a pair of goals each with less than four minutes to play.
- The Garnet held McDaniel to a pair of goals in the second quarter.
Cooper Bucklan added the first goal for the visiting team, while Mabbs added two and Hardiman and
Quin Seivold each tallied a goal as Swarthmore took an 13-3 lead into the half-time lead.
- Bucklan, Mabbs, and Strauch would add goals in the third, while
Danny Lowe tallied his first of the game.
Will Kelly recorded his first collegiate goal with 11:47 remaining in the game as Swarthmore took a strong 18-5 advantage.
- The Garnet went 18-of-19 on clear attempts, and collected 34 ground balls as a team.
Joel Paulson went 17-of-21 in the face-off circle, while
Matthew Martinez and
Nathan Lee each added face-off victories.
