GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Swarthmore College Softball earned a sweep over Gettysburg College on Saturday as they move to 7-1 in Centennial Conference action. The Garnet move to 18-4 overall and sit alone a top of the conference standings.
Alexandra Simon led the offense as she recorded three hits in game one, and notched a grand slam to get the offense started in the second game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Maya Estrera opened the scoring in the top of third with an RBI single to right field as she knocked home
Sam Hastings. The offense continued to roll in the third as Simon hit home Estrera, and
Gwen Glatz roped an RBI single to center allowing Laura Hirari to give Swarthmore a 3-0 lead.
- After giving up a run to the Bullets,
Flannery McFadden reached on an error as
Kate Hart scored to regain a three-run lead for the visiting team. Later in the fifth inning, Hart doubled to left field to hit home Glatz and Simon. A big home run in the top of the sixth inning by Estrera gave the Garnet a slight, 7-6 lead.
- Hasting had a huge at-bat in the top of the seventh to add a few insurances for the Garnet. The junior notched an RBI triple to center field knocking in Hart,
Molly O'Sullivan and Simon.
- In the circle, Glatz started the game by allowing six hits, six runs, a pair of walks and striking out two as she threw 4.1 innings.
Meg Ozawa earned the victory as she finished the final 2.2 innings allowing one hit, a walk and striking out three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Glatz and Hart opened the scoring by hitting solo home runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Cassidy Cheong followed suit by hitting in Hastings on an RBI single to right field. A few batters later, Simon roped her third home run of the season as she blasted a grand slam over the fence.
- The fourth inning offense was all the Garnet would need as Ozawa allowed two hits and struck out four in seven innings of work. The lefty moved to 11-1 on the season.
- Glatz went 3-for-4 from the plate, while Estrera, Hart and Cheong all recorded a pair of hits in the Centennial game. Hirari recorded a stolen base for the Garnet.
