CHATTANOOGA, TN - Swarthmore College Women's Tennis opened up spring break play on Sunday afternoon as they took on Sewanne. The Garnet fell to the Tigers, 8-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles action,
Sonia Varma and
Erica Stutz battled in the number one position as they fell 8-7.
Daniela Padron-Castillo and
Spencer Watts fought hard in the number two position, but dropped the match 8-2.
Jenny Lewis and
Sophie Brown finished the match with an 8-4 decision in the third position.
- Stutz was victorious at the third singles with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Emma Smith.
- Varma and Watts each forced a tiebreaker point in their singles matches. Unfortunately the ball didn't bounce in favor of the Garnet as Varma fell 7-6. 6-3 in the number one position, and Watts fell 6-3, 7-6 in the sixth singles position.
