SWARTHMORE, PA - The Swarthmore College baseball team dropped its non-conference matchup against Misericordia University, 10-2, on Tuesday night.
Max Roffwarg drove home the only RBI for the Garnet with a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, while
Nate Jbara went two-for-two at the dish to lead the offense. On the mound,
Casey Jordan tossed two scoreless with two strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars posted a crooked number in the third inning as they batted around for six runs. Misericordia sparked its rally with three extra base hits to open the inning, 6-0.
- Swarthmore added its first run in the sixth inning.
Luke Mutz opened the frame with a single up the middle. He then advanced to second on a balk, stole third base and then reached home on a wild pitch, 6-1.
- Misericordia added four runs in the seventh inning to expand its lead to nine. The Garnet then rallied for a run in the ninth inning after
Paul Cooke opened the stanza with a one-out single.
Max Beadling then recorded his first collegiate hit with a double down the left field line to advance two runners into scoring position, before Roffwarg plated a run with a sacrafice fly.
