SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Women's Tennis returned north with a 6-3 victory over Centre College at the Faulkner Tennis Courts on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles action, the Garnet took two points. At the number two spot,
Nathalie Williams and
Crystal Xu earned a hard fought 8-4 victory.
Spencer Watts and
Daniela Padron-Castillo battled to an 8-7 at the number three doubles spot.
- Williams,
Jenny Lewis,
Erica Stutz and
Oviya Kumaran were all victorious in singles play. At the number two spot, Lewis battled to a 7-5, 6-3 victory. Williams, playing at the number three position, knocked off Hannah Doherty, 6-4, 6-1. Stutz held the court down as the sophomore won, 6-3, 6-0, at the number four spot.
- Kumaran earned a 6-2, 6-2, victory at the number five spot to help the Garnet win their second straight match.
- This was the first time that the two institutions have ever met in women's tennis.

The Garnet (4-1) will open Centennial Conference action on Saturday as they host Dickinson College at Faulkner Courts at 1:00 p.m.
