First Half Burst Leads Men's Lacrosse Over Aggies

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse moved to 3-0 at Clothier Field Stadium as an offensive outburst in the opening half against Delaware Valley University catapulted the Garnet to victory on Wednesday. 

Led by three goals from Ben Schaeffer and Michael Hardiman, the Garnet knocked off the Aggies, 14-5, as they led from start to finish of the non-conference battle. Nine different players found the back of the net for Swarthmore.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Schaeffer tallied the opening goal with 14:33 on the clock as Swarthmore netted five total in the first frame. Schaeffer had two, while Jack Ford, Carter Strauch and Jackson Brosgol all scored to give Swarthmore a 5-0 lead a the opening break.

- Towards the end of the second quarter, Will Drake picked up a ground ball on a caused turnover and sprinted down the field. The senior rocketed a shot by Ryley Savering as the defenseman netted his first collegiate goal.

- In each of the quarters, the Garnet tallied the first goal of the frame. Michael Hardiman recorded the opening goal in the third and fourth quarters. 

- Shane Nachshen, Jack Ballou and Kevin Julich combined for 14 saves in the cage. Nachshen earned the victory as the freshman goalie blocked seven shots in 30-minutes of action. Swarthmore had 26 caused turnovers as the Aggies recorded 33 team turnovers.

The Garnet (5-2) will host Roger Williams University on Saturday at Clothier Field Stadium. Face-off is slated for 12:00 p.m.
