CLAREMONT, CA - The No. 38 Swarthmore College men's tennis team dropped a tightly-contested battle versus No. 18 Pomona-Pitzer, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon.
The Garnet took a 2-1 advantage in doubles action, while receiving singles victories from
Charley Force and
Noah Criss. Force led the way for the Garnet with victories in first singles and second doubles.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Force and
Rushil Patel were victorious in second doubles, 8-6, while
Graham Hadesman and
Max Pogorelov opened the afternoon with a victory in third doubles. Swarthmore ended doubles play with a 2-1 advantage over Pomona-Pitzer.
- Force also edged out a victory in first singles for his second victory of the afternoon. The sophomore completed the comeback as he bested his opponent in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.
- Crisis won in fifth singles to claim the Garnet's second singles win. The senior swept his opponent, 6-2, 6-4, to win the battle.
