Men’s Lacrosse Scores 10-Straight Goals to Complete West Coast Comeback

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team closed out its west coast road trip with a comeback victory over Sewanee University, 14-8, on Saturday afternoon.

Von Mabbs and Michael Hardiman paced the offense with four goals, respectively. Ben Schaeffer and Carter Strauch also had multi-goal performances with a pair of goals, while Danny Lowe and Cooper Bucklan added one goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sewanee opened the first quarter with four-unanswered goals, while holding the Garnet scoreless in the opening 10 minutes. Mabbs then scored the first goal for Swarthmore with an assist from Strauch at the 4:32 mark. The Tigers then added another goal to pull ahead by four goals, 5-1.

- The Tigers opened the second quarter with the first goal, while Lowe answered later in the quarter off a Schaeffer assist. Following a Sewanee goal, the Garnet ended the half strong with two goals from Hardiman and another from Bucklan to trim its deficit to two scores, 7-5. 

- The Garnet held the Tigers scoreless in the third quarter as Swarthmore rallied for seven-unanswered goals, 12-7. Mabbs tallied three goals in the quarter, while Hardiman added two scores and Schaeffer and Strauch each tallied one.

- Swarthmore closed out the win with a 2-1 advantage in the final quarter. After Sewanee put an end to the Garnet's 10-straight goals, Swarthmore closed out the game with scores from Schaeffer and Strauch.
