SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's tennis team opened the spring season with its second-straight as the Garnet bested NYU, 7-2, on Friday night. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet swept doubles action to open the night. Sonia Varma and Crystal Xu earned an 8-6 victory in the number one position. Swarthmore also edged out a victory from Nathalie Williams and Erica Stutz, 8-4, in second doubles, while Daniela Padron-Castillo and Spencer Watts earned a win in the third position, 8-2. 

- Jenny Lewis was victorious in third singles with a 6-2, 6-1 decision, while Oviya Kumaran put together a pair of 6-0 wins to take fourth singles.

- Stutz took fifth singles with a pair of 6-0 decisions. Padron-Castillo then closed out the evening with the Garnet's final victory with a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
