Women’s Basketball Wins Fourth-Straight in Dominant Fashion

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's basketball team added to its winning streak with a dominant 89-16 victory over Bryn Mawr to capture its fourth-straight victory on Saturday afternoon.

Every member of the women's basketball team scored as the Garnet coasted to a 73-point victory. Alyssa Hayashi led all scorers with 18 points, while Dana Bandurick added her 13th double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Kim Kockenmeister and Jordana Sampson also scored in double-figures with 12 and 10, respectively. Sampson recorded a career-high in points, rebounds and steals in 17 minutes of action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bryn Mawr scored the game's first points before being outscored 25-0 for the remainder of the opening quarter. Hayashi kickstarted the run with a three-pointer as the Garnet set the tone early with a dominant opening stanza, 25-2.

- The Garnet opened the second quarter with three points from Hayashi to expand their run to 28 unanswered points. Kockenmeister ended the quarter with a bucket from long range as Swarthmore took a commanding 43-9 lead into the half. 

- For the second time this game, the Garnet held the Owls to just two points in the third quarter. Norah Wingfield expanded the lead to 52 points as she added back-to-back fastbreak layups with 1:06 left in the stanza. Swarthmore ended the third quarter with a 66-11 advantage.

- Sampson drained a three-pointer to take a 58 point lead with 8:18 remaining. Moments later, Sampson then put the Garnet lead above the 60 point mark with a jumper, 77-16. Swarthmore ended the game on an 18-0 rally as they coasted to their largest victory of the season.
