Men’s Soccer Outlasted By Dickinson, Falls 4-2

CARLISLE, Pa. - Playing in their final road game of the season, the Swarthmore men's soccer team lost to Dickinson College 4-2 on Saturday, Oct. 22nd.

The Garnet saw both of their goals come in the second half, the first from first year Joseph Eyiolowpe and the second from sophomore Grant Nguyen. On the offensive side of the ball, senior Bless Tumushabe posted a team-leading five shots, while defensively, both junior Caleb Ehrenhaft and senior Aidan Cerveny tallied one save.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-    Dickinson struck first, scoring in both the 19th and 23rd minutes. Despite putting up eight shots in the first half, the Garnet were unable to respond, going into the half down 2-0.
-    Eyiolowpe put the Garnet on the board in the 64th minute. Despite being blanketed by two defenders, the Delaware native capitalized on a long pass from midfield into the box, hammering the ball into the bottom left hand corner for Swarthmore's first goal of the night.
-    The Red Devils scored twice more in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 69th and 75th minutes to go up 4-1.
-    The Garnet would score once more off the foot of Nguyen, with the midfielder expertly handling a free kick served in from senior Sean Nolan, flipping the ball off the side of his foot into the far side of the goal to add to the Garnet's point total.
-    Despite putting up 17 shots on the night, the Garnet were unable to match the offensive production of Dickinson, ultimately falling to the Red Devils 4-2.
