Garnet Win Third-Straight Conference Matchup, Greer Earns Fourth Shutout

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's soccer team earned points in their fifth-straight conference game as they bested Ursinus College, 1-0, on Wednesday night.

Amelia Mounts netted her fifth goal of the season in the 58th minute to lift the Garnet past Ursinus.

Nora Greer earned her fourth shutout of the season as the junior totaled fives saves in a full 90-minutes of action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alice Onyango-Opiyo recorded the first shot on goal in the 8th minute. The senior got a look at the net from just outside the box and fired a strike to the lower right corner, but the shot was corralled by the Ursinus keeper. Moments later, the Garnet created a run at the net, but had the play called off with an offsides.

- Abby Chang forced the Ursinus keeper to make a leaping save in the 26th minute. The sophomore played a shot high from the top of the box, which was deflected out of play by the keeper. Allie Zitelli then had her header saved off the ensuing corner kick.

- The Garnet threatened at the end of the opening half, but had a pair of shots from Kim Kockenmeister and Isabella Specchierla blocked as both teams headed into intermission scoreless.

- Chang had a quality look at the net in the 52nd minute. She made a move to get open inside the box after receiving a pass from the defensive side of the field. However, her shot attempt was denied by an excellent diving save.

- Mounts chipped a shot over the keeper and into the top-right corner of the net for the game's first goal in the 58th minute. Mounts won a challenge against a Bears defender before chipping the ball into the back of the net from just outside the box.
