SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Field Hockey won its second straight game to open the season with a 2-0 victory over Arcadia University on Sunday at Clothier Field Stadium.
Four minutes into the game, junior forward
Martina Kampel opened the scoring for the Garnet. Kampel collected the loose ball after
Grace Twitchell's initial shot was blocked by a Knights defender.
At the beginning of the fourth frame, Kampel gathered another rebound off of a
Deborah Kim shot to give the Garnet a 2-0 advantage.
The Garnet out shot the Knights 17 to 6, including zero shots allowed by the Garnet in the fourth quarter.
Victoria Kimmel earned the win in the net for Swarthmore as she recorded six saves.
Swarthmore returns to the field on Saturday as they travel to take on Stevens at 1:00 pm in Hoboken, N.J.
