UNION, N.J. - Swarthmore College Volleyball faced its first road test of the season as the Garnet took on UMass-Boston and Kean at a tri-match held by Kean. The Garnet defeated UMass-Boston in straight sets, 25-23,25-18,25-17 but fell to Kean, 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.
Chloe Mayhue led the way against UMass-Boston with 11 kills while
Kaylee Zhang and
Alexa Bartlett collected nine and eight kills, respectively. Bartlett and
Erin Kaye collected two blocks each.
Sierra Tyson tallied 19 digs for the Garnet. Swarthmore collected a .295 hitting percentage as they held the Beacons to a .114 hitting percentage.
Against Kean, Mayhue led the way with 11 kills, followed by
Grace Hegland and Zhang. Hegland added two blocks, while
Dani Pena collected 20 assists.
Jordan Perry recorded two service aces for Swarthmore.
Swarthmore will be back in action on Friday as they host Stevens at 7pm as part of the Garnet Quad Match.
