SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Volleyball fell to Stevens, 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 12-25, 17-25), on the opening night of the Garnet Quad Match at Tarble Pavilion on Friday night.
The Garnet battled the Ducks hard in the four set match, including a battle in a back-and-forth second set to earn the 25-20 victory. Swarthmore opened the scoring on an attacking error by Cleo Shannon. Stevens added a pair of points before Swarthmore six of the next eight points in the set. After exchanging points for a period in the second set,
Alexa Bartlett collected a kill to give the Garnet a 20-14 edge. An attacking error by Liz Patterson captured the set victory for Swarthmore.
Kaylee Zhang led Swarthmore with ten kills in addition to five digs.
Dani Pena added 20 assists and three digs against the Ducks.
Sierra Tyson tallied 15 digs for the Garnet.
Swarthmore will be back in action on Saturday as they host Marymount at 10:00 a.m. and Lebanon Valley at 4:00 p.m.
