SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Quinn Basewitz scored three minutes into the the first overtime frame to give Swarthmore College Field Hockey the 3-2 victory over Cabrini University on Wednesday evening at Clothier Field Stadium. 

With six field players on the field for each team, the Garnet worked to take advantage of the extra space on the field. Samantha Meacock connected with Anna Stancofski on a cross field pass. Stancofski sent Martina Kampel forward, who found Basewitz open behind the Cavaliers defense for the game-winner. 

Swarthmore opened the scoring in the 8th minute of play as Deborah Kim scored her second of the season. Jackie Crowley collected the ball after a corner insert from Chelsea Semper, and passed the ball to Kim for the opening goal. Grace Fuselier fired a shot towards the cage and it was deflected in by Semper for the seniors third goal of the season. 

A little over two minutes into the fourth quarter, Olivia Sims put Cabrini within a goal. Less than a minute later, Allison Martin tied the game at two with her sixth goal of the season. Sophia Hitchingham forced Cavaliers goalie Courtney Keith to make a save late in the fourth frame. 

The Garnet collected 15 shots and 18 corners, while Cabrini collected six shots and only five corners.  Swarthmore improves to 5-1, while Cabrini drops to 4-4. The Garnet open Centennial action on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. as they host #2 Johns Hopkins University at Clothier Field Stadium.
