SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Swarthmore College Women's Tennis had four student-athletes go undefeated in singles play as they hosted the Swarthmore Invitational this past weekend.
Jenny Lewis,
Anna Miller,
Grace Dignazio, and
Nathalie Williams all went undefeated in singles for the weekend. Overall, the Garnet finished 25-11 in singles matches and 8-4 in doubles matches.
Lewis defeated Franklin & Marshall's Jenna Harrison 6-2 and 6-3 on Saturday at Faulkner Courts. Williams, who defeated Haverford's Emily Oh in two-sets, won with set scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
On Saturday,
Sonia Varma battled F&M's Cassidy Landau to three sets. Varma was able to steal the second 2-6, but lost the other two 6-3 and 10-6.
Miller defeated Haverford's Liv Pindzola in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Lara Geib added a victory in singles action over Lisette Pham, 7-5 and 6-3.
In doubles action, Miller and Dignazio knocked off the Diplomats' Presley Dagget and Kayley Burke, 8-3. Williams and
Crystal Xu finished a doubles match with a victory over the Fords' Mimi Lavin and Pham 8-7.
The Garnet return to the courts at the ITA Regional Championships in Fredericksburg, Va. The regionals are slated to be hosted at the University of Mary Washington from Saturday, September 25th to Monday, September 27th.
