Kohn's Late Goal Lifts Field Hockey Over Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Katherine Kohn's late goal lifts Swarthmore College Field Hockey to victory over Elizabethtown College on Wednesday afternoon.

Kohn, who opened the scoring in the third minute of the game, added a game-winning goal in the last two-minutes of the game to give the Garnet a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jays. With just over two minutes remaining in the game, Swarthmore earned its 13th corner of the game. The insert by Chelsea Semper bounced off of Martina Kampel's stick. Samantha Meacock received the ball from Kampel, passed it to Semper who put the ball in front of the net. After an attempted clear by Angelina Giglio-Tos, Kohn took a shot on net to win the game for the Garnet.

On the opening goal, Kampel passed the ball from the right of the goalie to Kohn who was set up in front of the net. The freshman collected the ball, turned and fired a shot to the back of the net. Seven minutes later, Swarthmore earned a penalty corner. Semper set up for the corner, inserted to Meacock at the top of the circle. Meacock settled the ball, took one step in and fired a shot to the back of the cage to give Swarthmore a 2-0 lead.
