Women's Soccer Defeat Owls; Clinches Postseason Berth

BRYN MAWR, Pa. - Swarthmore College Women's Soccer clinched a spot in the Centennial Conference postseason with a 2-0 victory over Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday afternoon.

Abby Chang and Anwyn Urquhart each tallied their third goals of the season in the victory for the Garnet.

Chang opened the scoring in the 8th minute after receiving a long pass from Samantha Barnes. The senior midfielder led Chang with a long through pass to the top of the box, where the first year collected the ball, dribbled it a little bit and fired to the lower left of the net for a Swarthmore goal.

In the 28th minute, Amelia Mounts' shot from just outside the box was knocked down by Grecia Prieto. With Prieto unable to control the shot, Urquhart gathered the loose ball and put it in the net to give the Garnet a two goal advantage.

Kim Kockenmeister, Allie Zitelli, and Hope Neale added a pair of shots in the conference game. Barnes, Megan Ruoff, and Anna Cairone all tallied a shot for the Garnet.

Nora Greer earned the victory in the net as she recorded three saves.

With the win, the Garnet collected their 19th point of the season and moved to 9-3-2 and 6-2-1 in Centennial action. The Owls fall to 2-12 and 2-8 in league action. Swarthmore closes out the regular season on Saturday as they travel to Haverford College. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
