SWARTHMORE, Pa. - A penalty kick in the 109th minute led Swarthmore College Women's Soccer to a 2-1 victory over University of Mary Washington in non-conference action on Wednesday night at Clothier Field Stadium.
Kim Kockenmeister, who recorded her third overtime game-winner of the season, was taken down inside the box in the second overtime frame. Kockenmeister lined up for the PK and fired it by Allison Nork.
Allie Zitelli opened the scoring in the 24th minute as the freshman tipped a
Samantha Barnes pass inside the left post. The first half goal by Zitelli was her first collegiate goal as Barnes picked up her second assist of the year. A little over eight minutes later, Gracie Williams scored for the Eagles to tie the game at a goal apiece.
Nora Greer earned the victory in the net as she recorded two saves on six shots. The Garnet held the advantage with 15 shots and six corner kicks.

Swarthmore improves to 7-3-2, while Mary Washington falls to 4-7-1. The Garnet return to the pitch on Saturday as they host Dickinson College in a crucial Centennial Conference game at 7:00 p.m. Prior to the game, the senior class will be honored as part of Senior Day and Garnet Weekend.
