SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Swarthmore College Field Hockey battled as they fell to No. 14 Ursinus College in Centennial Conference play, 1-0, on Wednesday night at Clothier Field Stadium.

The Garnet fall to 9-5 and 3-4 in Centennial play, while the Bears improve to 10-4 and 5-2.

After scoreless first frame, Jordan Moore gave Ursinus a 1-0 lead with the only goal of the game in the 18th minute. The Bears looked to add to their lead, but Swarthmore's defense stood tall. In the second quarter, Ursinus earned six penalty corners, but could not capitalize.

Swarthmore pressured the No. 14 team in the country in the final quarter as the Garnet controlled most of the momentum. The Garnet offense tallied nine shots and four penalty corners in in the final quarter. Early in the fourth quarter, Quinn Basewitz and Katherine Kohn each forced Jordan Ulsh to make one of her five saves. Samantha Meacock led the way with three shots, while Deborah Kim, Grace Twitchell and Jackie Crowley all added a shot for the Garnet.

The Garnet will host Dickinson College in their final home game of the regular season on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the game, Swarthmore will honor the senior class as they will host Senior Day and Garnet Weekend.
