SWARTHMORE, Pa. -Swarthmore College Women's Soccer fell in a hard battle, 2-1, to No. 10 McDaniel College on Saturday morning at Clothier Field Stadium.

The Garnet drop to 2-3-2 and 0-2-1 in conference play, while the Green Terror improve to 10-0 and 4-0 in Centennial action. 

Swarthmore opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a beautiful goal from Veronica Gibbons. Ally Scheve sent the ball into the box from about 25 yards out and Gibbons had one quick touch by the McDaniel keeper. In the 42nd minute of play, Lillian Keller made a diving save to left to keep it a 1-0 Swarthmore advantage. The Garnet led going into the half-time break by holding the tenth ranked team in the country to only six shots. 

In the second half, McDaniel added pressure by recording four of the first give shots. The Green Terror equalized the game in the 85th minute with a goal from Hannah Schepers. A minute later, Elaina Kluttz scored the game-winner on a shot from just outside the box passed a diving Keller. 

Charlotte Pohl and Nicte Machado-Aco added shots for the Garnet and Keller added two saves in the net.

The Garnet will return to action on Wednesday at they travel to take on Washington College (Md.). Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
