WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – No. 24 Swarthmore College Men's Soccer ended the non-conference slate with a scoreless draw against Lycoming College on Tuesday.
The Garnet move to 9-2-1, while the Warriors fall to 6-4-3.
Woojin Shin and
Bless Tumushabe gave Swarthmore early goal scoring chances. In the second minute, Shin fired a shot over the net. In the fourth minute, Nick Wilke was challenged in the net as he stopped a shot by Tumushabe.
Harrison Hotham and
Leo Hecht each recorded a shot before the Warriors recorded their first shot of the game in the 11th minute.
The second half began with the Garnet tallying three shots in the first six minutes of play.
Oliver Garcia forced Wilke into two low saves and
Charley Ward added a shot wide left of the net.
In the second overtime frame, Garcia and Tumushabe each had an opportunity to win the game for the Garnet. Garcia shot the ball wide right, while Tumushabe forced Wilke into a diving save to the bottom left of the net.
Swarthmore tallied 16 shots in the 110-minute contest, while Lycoming finished with 11 shots.

Freddie Lin all recorded a shot in the non-conference match.
Max Kral recorded five saves in the net for the Garnet.
Swarthmore returns to the pitch on Saturday as they take on Franklin & Marshall College in Centennial Conference play. Kickoff between the Garnet and Diplomats, who are receiving votes in the national poll, is slated for 6:00 p.m.
