SWARTHMORE, Pa.--No. 24 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis battled with No. 19 NYU on Friday night in a marathon indoor match.
Swarthmore captured the top doubles flight.
Elise Talley and
Christina Wang won 8-7 with a 7-1 win in the tiebreaker game.
Emma Kassan and
Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo fell 8-2 in second doubles, and
Sonia Varma and
Jenny Lewis fell 8-4 in third doubles.
Swarthmore earned a win at fifth singles as Fernandez-Ravelo took care of Rupa Ganesh 6-2, 2-6, 10-8.
Kassan won her first set 7-5 and went three sets but fell in the next two sets 6-2, 6-2.
Swarthmore is back in action on Sunday at home at 11 a.m. against Christopher Newport University.
