Box Score HAVERFORD, Pa.—No. 25 Swarthmore College Women's Tennis had no issue beating the Haverford College Fords, the team that eliminated them from the playoffs last season, on Tuesday night. The Garnet won 7-2 and improved to 11-4 overall and 7-1 in the Centennial this season.
Swarthmore, playing in its second of four matches this week, took the top two doubles matches and the bottom five singles matches.
Elise Talley and Christina Wang won top doubles 8-2 while Emma Kassan and Sonia Varma held off the Fords 8-3 in second dubs.
Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo ran away with second singles 6-0, 6-0 for the shutout. Overall, in the bottom five singles flights, Swarthmore only dropped four total games. Talley went 6-1, 6-0 at third singles, Wang also won 6-1, 6-0 in fourth singles.
Grace Dignazio earned another win, this time taking fifth singles 6-0, 6-1. Audrey Haring rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over the sixth singles competitor.
Swarthmore now gears up for McDaniel on Friday and Bryn Mawr at home on Saturday to close out the regular season.
