SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- No. 25-ranked Swarthmore College Volleyball won its first home match of the season 3-0 over Ursinus on Tuesday, bringing its record to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in Centennial Conference play.

Sarah Girard was honored for breaking the school's dig record on Aug. 31. She had a team-high 13 on the night, bringing her career total to 1,722.
Swarthmore beat the Bears (5-8, 0-3) in all three sets by scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-16.
The Garnet jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first set but let Ursinus crawl back to make it 4-3. Swarthmore scored 21 of the next 27 points to seal the set victory.
The Bears played the beginning of the second set close with Swarthmore, leaving it tied 6-6. However, Swarthmore took off with an 11-1 run. In the third set, Swarthmore scored the first two points and never let the Bears back into it.
Junior middle blocker
Emma Morgan-Bennett led the Garnet with 13 kills and now has a team-best .410 hitting percentage this season.
Freshman outside hitter
Katie Silva had a career-high 10 kills and a team-high .625 hitting percentage in the match.
Swarthmore's next match is at home again on Saturday at 1 p.m. against McDaniel College (9-1, 0-1).
