MADISON, N.J.--In its last regular-season game and last game before it hosts the Centennial Conference playoffs, Swarthmore College Baseball defeated Drew University 9-3.
The Garnet (29-9 overall) took a one-run lead over Drew (16-18) on a double by freshman Micahel Sepe in the second inning and expanded that lead to 2-0 in the third as sophomore
Cole Beeker singled in a run.
Swarthmore separated itself from Drew on a three-run home run by sophomore
Jared Gillen in the sixth that gave the Garnet a 6-1 lead. That was Gillen's second homer of the season.
Junior Connor Elliott led Swarthmore with three hits in his five at bats. Beeker and freshman Cole Hebble also contributed with two hits apiece.

Charles Groppe pitched three one-run innings in relief and was awarded with the win. His record is now 5-0 this season.
Swarthmore will play in its first conference tournament game since 2010 against Franklin & Marshall on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Clothier Field.
