Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Shin Scores Brace In Road Win Over Bears

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Soccer remains unbeaten in Centennial Conference play and is second place in the conference standings following a 3-0 win at Ursinus College.

The Garnet improved to 2-0-1 in conference and 4-5-1 overall.

Freshman Woojin Shin scored a pair of goals for Swarthmore. Yuheng Wang tallied the other goal for the Garnet.

Swarthmore recorded one more shot than the hosts, 12-11, but eight of Swarthmore's attempts were on target. Oliver Steinglass saved both Ursinus shots that came his way.

Shin's first strike came from about 30 yards out, rocketing a left-footed shot into the lower right corner.

The Garnet then tallied goal number two shortly after halftime. Felix Laniyan found Wang who fired in his first goal of the year from the center of the box.

In the 73rd minute, Shin scored again from long-distance, dialing in from about 25 yards away to complete the brace.

Swarthmore has a nice stretch of days without a game and resumes play on Oct. 7 against Johns Hopkins, the top team in the conference standings.
