ALLENTOWN, Pa.—A pair of goals from Garnet freshman elevated Swarthmore College Men's Soccer above the Muhlenberg College Mules on Saturday night.
Rookies
Woojin Shin and
Joe Barile scored as the Garnet downed the Mules 2-1.
The contest appeared almost even from a statistical standpoint with both teams committing 15 fouls, taking 12 shots, and recording three saves.
Oliver Steinglass got the win in net for the Garnet. The Garnet improved to 3-5-1 and are unbeaten in Centennial play with a 1-0-1 conference record. The win is the first on the road this season for Swarthmore.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half, but the action riveted up in the second period. Four Garnet players drew cautions in the latter half of the physical contest.

Woojin Shin's first collegiate goal in the 59th minute.
The Mules responded with a goal in the 66th minute off a rebounded shot to tie the game.
In the 72nd minute, the Garnet moved ahead for good with a goal from Barile. Senior
Tommy Sheehan crossed a ball from the end line into the box for Barile who finished for his first collegiate goal.
Steinglass recorded another save down the stretch to maintain the lead.
The Garnet play at Ursinus College on Wednesday night.
