NEW LONDON, Conn.—Swarthmore College Men's Soccer's trip to Connecticut College, the alma mater of head coach
Eric Wagner, ended in a loss for the Garnet on Wednesday.
The Garnet fell behind after the host Camels scored in the fifth minute. Three more goals from the Camels in the second half gave them the 4-0 win. Connecticut improved to 4-0-2 on the year, and Swarthmore slipped to 2-5-1 on the year.
Connecticut shot nine times, with four on goal, and Swarthmore tallied four shots with one on goal. All four Garnet shot attempts came from freshmen.
Francis Eddy Harvey put a shot wide in the 44th minute,
Sam Rothstein had a pair shots in the second half, and
Joe Barile took a shot in the 58th minute.
Swarthmore's road woes continued as the Garnet dropped to 0-4 away from Clothier Field. The Garnet are on the road on Saturday at Muhlenberg College at 7 p.m.
