ST. DAVIDS, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Soccer played Eastern University even through the first half. Neither team scored in the opening frame and both teams recorded five total shots. However, an early second-half goal got the Eastern Eagles going and they went on to win 3-0.

The Garnet took 11 shots in total and put six of them on goal. Oliver Steinglass notched a pair of saves between the posts for the Garnet.

Omri Gal made the Garnet's first attempt on goal in the seventh minute. Gal had another shot on target denied with five minutes left in the first half, and Francis Eddy Harvey put one on frame with 37 seconds to go in the half.

Eastern netted a penalty kick goal 27 seconds into the second half following a handball in the box. The hosts tallied their second goal in the 59th minute and their third in the 71st minute. 

The Garnet took another three shots on goal in the second half, but couldn't close the gap. 

Swarthmore (2-3) looks to rebound on Saturday as Centennial Conference play begins against Dickinson College.
