SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse cruised to a 15-0 win at home on Wednesday night against the Bryn Mawr College Owls, earning its first Centennial Conference victory of the year.
The shutout is the first recorded by the Garnet since March 24, 2007.
The Garnet scored 32 seconds into the contest and then continued to score in quick succession, netting another goal 16 seconds later and yet another 18 seconds after that. Swarthmore scored five times in the first three minutes and amassed a 10-goal lead in the 21st minute to enforce the running-clock rule.
Swarthmore peppered the Owls with 27 shots on goal and dominated on the draw and on the ride.
Elizabeth Wainwright led the Garnet with four goals and two assists, her third game this season with at least five points. Tess Wild netted a hat trick for the fourth time this year and added three draw controls to her three goals.
Bella Levine and Sophie Peipher both scored a pair of goals. Peipher led all players with six draw controls. Andie Battin, Taylor Chiang, Briana Narzikul and Megan Jones all scored a goal as well.
The Garnet return to the field on Saturday for a road game at No. 5 Gettysburg College.
