CARLISLE, Pa.—After knocking off nationally-ranked Gettysburg College last Saturday, Swarthmore College Men's Lacrosse went for No. 6 Dickinson College this Saturday. However, the Red Devils, playing on their senior day, got the better of the Garnet, taking the contest 17-6.
Swarthmore dropped to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in Centennial play while Dickinson improved to 10-2 and 4-1 (Centennial).
Cam Marsh led the Garnet with a pair of goals. John Arth, Jack Belluche, Tom Fitch and Matt Johnson all scored as well. Dickinson's Dylan Maher scored a game-high four goals.
Cole Fox recorded 10 saves in goal in the loss.
The Red Devils posted the first goals of the game before the Garnet responded with three straight in the second quarter. Dickinson then registered another run of six goals before Johnson scored a man-up tally with 9:15 to play in the fourth. Swarthmore would go on to score twice in the final three minutes but fell by a final score of 17-6.
Dickinson's Austin Hurdle proved to be a challenge on the faceoff, winning a game-high 11-of-17 attempts. Swarthmore's Andrew Choe recorded four faceoff wins, Stephen Ducey and Hunter Luber two and Eric Levin one.
Swarthmore looks to get back to .500 in the conference standings on April 22 when McDaniel College comes to town.
