CHESTER, Pa.--Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse powered past the Widener College Pride on Tuesday night. A run of seven straight goals to end the first period and begin the second locked up the 14-4 win for the Garnet.
Swarthmore improved to 7-4 with the win. Six Garnet players found the back of the net with
Elizabeth Wainwright scoring a game-high four goals.
Tess Wild recorded a hat trick.
Bella Levine,
Taylor Chiang and
Briana Narzikul each scored a pair of goals.
Sydnie Schwarz added Swarthmore's remaining goal.
Swarthmore strung together four straight goals in the first and then had another three goal burst to go up 7-2 with with 8:53 to play in the first.
With 1:06 left in the first,
Briana Narzikul scored a player-up goal to send the Garnet into the break up 8-3. The goal started a 7-0 run for the Garnet. Wainwright scored the first three Garnet goals of the second half.
In goal,
Betsy Cohen recorded three saves in 56 minutes.
Narzikul grabbed a game-high five draw controls and Wild added three.
Swarthmore returns to Centennial action on Saturday at Dickinson College.
