CARLISLE, Pa.--Swarthmore College Women's Lacrosse played a rare Friday night contest, taking on the Dickinson College Red Devils on the road. The Garnet fell to the Red Devils 15-8 and slipped to 7-5 (1-4 Centennial) on the season. Dickinson remains undefeated in conference play, improving to 5-0 in Centennial action.
Elizabeth Wainwright scored a team-high three goals, reaching a hat trick for the ninth game this season.
Tess Wild added a pair of goals as did
Briana Narzikul. Both of Narzikul's goals were scored on free-position shots. Freshman
Andie Battin also scored a goal.
Dickinson's scoring was primarily concentrated in two players: Eleanor Kaestner (six goals) and Maddy Siebold (five).
Dickinson posted the first four goals of the contest before Battin scored the Garnet's first goal with 17:39 to go. Wild, who assisted Battin's goal, scored the next goal for the Garnet. Wainwright netted her first goal with 2:51 to play, pulling Swarthmore within two, 5-3.
Dickinson led 6-3 at the half and then scored the first two goals of the second half.
Briana Narzikul scored with 19:39 to play and then set up Wainwright for her second goal with 15:49 to go.
Dickinson strung together four straight goals and then Swarthmore and Dickinson each scored three goals in the final nine minutes.
The Garnet only pulled down one fewer draw controls than the Red Devils (13-12). Wild collected a game-high six draw controls.
Swarthmore hosts Muhlenberg College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
