SWARTHMORE, Pa.–The Swarthmore College women's tennis team stayed perfect against Centennial Conference competition with an 8-1 win over the Dickinson Red Devils on Saturday, April 1.
Swarthmore swept doubles, starting with an 8-0 blanking by
Arya Jemal and
Rachel Bronkema.
Ashley Gao and
Shirline Wee followed with an 8-5 win at the second spot while the first doubles pair of
Emma Kassan and
Anna Scheibmeir battled to an 8-6 win.
Jemal stayed perfect on the afternoon with a 6-0, 6-0 rout at fourth singles and was followed shortly by Kassan, who won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1.
Julia Gokhberg prevailed 6-2, 6-1 in the second singles flight and
Nicole Khorosh triumphed 7-6(5), 6-0 at fifth singles. Sixth singles player
Audrey Haring wrapped up the match with a 6-4, 6-3 result at the sixth spot.
Swarthmore continues league play against Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday, April 4 at 4 p.m.
